VTC offers various types of scholarships and award schemes to recognize students’ outstanding achievement. The scholarships / award schemes include:

Scholarships for New Students
Higher Diploma Programme Outstanding Achievements Admission Scholarship Scheme

The Scholarship is set up for holders of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE), newly-enrolled in all full-time Higher Diploma programmes of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE).

Scholarship Amount Application Requirements

HK$60,000

(Year 1 HK$30,000 &
Year 2 HK$30,000)

  • Total score of 25 or above for the best 5 HKDSE subjects (including English Language and Chinese Language); and Level 2 or above in the HKDSE Chinese Language and English Language

  • Total score of 20-24 for the best 5 HKDSE subjects (including English Language and Chinese Language); and Level 2 or above in the HKDSE Chinese Language and English Language
HKD 15,000
  • Total score of 18-19 for the best 5 HKDSE subjects (including English Language and Chinese Language); and Level 2 or above in the HKDSE Chinese Language and English Language
Scholarships for Further Studies
Rotary Hong Kong Vocational Scholarship

The scholarship is a progressing scholarship scheme to support VTC financially needy students of Diploma of Foundation Studies who possess positive attitude, leadership qualities and commitment to the community to articulate to Higher Diploma programmes. The scholarship amount ranges from HK$10,000 to HK$35,000.

Wu Jieh Yee Bursary

Wu Jieh Yee Bursary aims to provide VTC Higher Diploma students from low-income households with financial relief so that they can focus on their studies and move towards their goals. Each recipient receives a bursary of HK$10,000 in support of their studies or living expenses.

Scholarships to encourage Out-reaching Participation
Mr Yeung Kai-yin Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship enables needy students to participate in outbound study visits and academic exchange programmes to broaden their exposure and horizons and enhance their holistic development. Each awardee receives up to HK$10,000, subject to the student's level of study.

The HKSAR Government Subsidy Schemes for Exchange Activities

The Government of the HKSAR has introduced four different subsidy schemes (which provide means-tested or non-means-tested subsidies) to support post-secondary students to participate in outbound exchange activities, so as to nurture students with international outlook and ability to thrive in a multi-cultural environment. These schemes are applicable to local and non-local (for Mainland experience only) students enrolled in full-time Higher Diploma programmes. Subsidy amount varies according to the destination, duration of the exchange activity and the level of means-tested student financial assistance (applicable to means-tested subsidy schemes). Students with financial needs can apply for means-tested schemes with a higher subsidy amount.

Mr K S Cheng Memorial Scholarship

The Scholarship aims to offer financial assistance to Higher Diploma students in pursuit of their aspirations. By providing this support, students are empowered to develop self-confidence and foster a sense of responsibility through executing self-set learning objectives engaging in reflective thinking, paving the way for their future success.

Hong Kong Furniture & Decoration Trade Association Scholarship

The scholarship aims to provide support to talented students who wish to participate in semester-long overseas study programmes. Each student is eligible to receive up to HK$90,000 per scholarship, offering financial assistance to cover various expenses associated with their overseas study experience.

Sponsorship Schemes for Student Outbound Programme under Tin Ka Ping Foundation

Three sponsorship schemes have been established to cultivate global citizenship and promote holistic development through service learning, experiential learning and whole-person development activities held in Greater China and overseas countries.

China Candlelight Education Fund Sponsorship Scheme for Student Outbound Programme in the Greater China Region

The Scheme aims to ensure that needy students in VTC have equal access to learning opportunities for participating in outbound exchange activities in the Greater China region. The objective is to broaden students’ horizons and uplift their ability to work across multiple borders.

Drs. Richard Charles and Esther Yewpick Lee Charitable Foundation - The VPET-Experiential Learning Award

The Award is established to provide sponsorship for financially disadvantaged students, enabling them to participate in collaborative programmes that offer valuable experiences and exposure to emerging business sectors. Additionally, it supports students who aspire to pursue a career in the Mainland with recognised qualifications.

HSBC Overseas Scholarship

The HSBC Overseas Scholarship aims to provide financial support for full-time undergraduate student with outstanding achievements in pursuing vocational and professional education and training (VPET). The awardees are supported to participate in one semester-long / one academic-year-long overseas study programmes. Each student can receive up to HK$300,000.

Scholarships to recognize Outstanding Performance
Dr Ng Tat-lun Memorial Outstanding Students Award Scheme

This award aims to award outstanding students based on their academic achievements, leadership abilities, personal qualities, participation in extracurricular activities and contribution to the community. Every year, ten students from different disciplines / study levels receive this award of HK$10,000 each.

The HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund / Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme

The HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund / Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme offers various scholarships and awards, including Outstanding Performance Scholarship, Talent Development Scholarship, Reaching Out Award, Best Progress Award and Endeavour Merit Award. The scholarships ranging from HK$10,000 to HK$40,000.

 
Disney Scholarship

The Disney Scholarship is established to recognise outstanding VTC students and identify talents for further grooming. In addition, Hong Kong Disneyland provides internship opportunities for VTC students annually, offering real-life work experience in areas such as food and beverage, park operations, facilities service, and engineering. The scholarship is in the amount of HK$10,000 each.

HSBC Vocational Education Scholarship

The HSBC Vocational Education Scholarship is extablished to acknowledge outstanding accomplishments of Higher Diploma students in their pursuit of vocational and professional education and training (VPET). Each year, a total of 20 scholarships, valued at HK$20,000 each, will be awarded to students from various academic disciplines.

Scholarships to recognize Academic Progress
CYMA Charity Fund Scholarship

The CYMA Charity Fund Scholarship is established to give recognition and encouragement to financially disadvantaged students who have demonstrated significant improvements in their studies. Its purpose is to support their whole person development through extra-curricular activities. Each year, a total of 100 scholarships, valued at HK$5,000 each, will be offered to VTC students.

Self-financing Post-secondary Education Fund – Best Progress Award

The Best Progress Award aims to encourage and recognise students with significant progress and improvement in their studies. The scholarship is in the amount of HK$10,000 each.

Scholarships to recognize performance in Internship / Attachments
Outstanding Industrial Attachment Scholarships

Supported by generous donations from industrialists and employers, the scheme aims to recognise and reward full-time VTC students who have demonstrated outstanding performance during their industrial attachments. Each year, a total of 400 scholarships, valued at HK$5,000 each, will be awarded to VTC students from various disciplines.

Scholarships for Talent Development
The HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund / Self-financing Post-secondary Education Fund – Talent Development Scholarship

The Talent Development Scholarship aims to give recognition to students who have demonstrated achievements or talent in non-academic areas and provide support for these students to further develop their talent and potential. Talent areas include sports and games, music and performing arts, culture, arts and design, and innovation, science and technology. The scholarship is in the amount of HK$10,000 each.
