Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong
University Overview
Founded in 2012, the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is a member institute of the Vocational Training Council (VTC). THEi offers more than 20 professional "Applied Science-Oriented" undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes across seven academic areas: Product and Fashion Designs, Sports and International Events Management, Digital Construction and Building Services, Horticulture, Arboriculture and Landscape Management, Chinese Medicine and Food Science, Hotel Management and Culinary Arts and Technology and Digital Technology and Innovative Business. The programmes integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications, and cover industries with growth potential in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring that students can apply what they learn effectively. Our undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications and by the relevant professional bodies where appropriate. THEi prepares Work Ready, Future Ready graduates through our strong applied degree and professional education programmes. The institute also collaborates closely with industry partners to provide students with essential platforms for their development. All undergraduate degree programmes offer 100% work-integrated learning (WIL) and engage students in active learning pedagogies including a strong focus on project-based learning involving real-world problem-solving with and for local industries and professions.
Programme Overview
There is a significant demand for surveying services and quality graduates. The programme provides a highly vocational-oriented surveying degree supported by practical studies and work-integrated learning placement.

It also provides a choice of two multiple specialisations to enhance professional expertise and employability: (1) Quantity Surveying and Property & Facility Management (QS and PFM) Stream; (2) Building Surveying, General Practice and Planning & Development (BS, GP and PD) Stream.

The programme covers the core surveying areas of construction technology, real estate and development management, land and construction law and real estate economics and investment, which back up the professional roles and tasks at planning, development, construction, and occupancy phases of the building life cycle. It also emphasises general education and work-integrated learning. Graduates from this programme will therefore be professionally competent and contribute to social and global issues.
Programme Structure
This is a credit-based programme, which students will normally complete over 4 years (in 8 semesters). Students are required to take 132 credit points with modules as shown below and an Industrial Attachment module for work-integrated learning. To encourage lifelong learning in general, and to provide students with greater flexibility, the programme will be offered through a credit-based module accumulation system with a multi-entry and multi-exit structure.

Progression to the QS & PFM Specialisation Stream or the BS, GP & PD Specialisation Stream in Years 3 and 4 will be based on the academic merits of Years 1 and 2.
It is a matter of discretion for individual employers to recognise any qualification to which this course may lead.
